– DC connector: Clamps, eyelets, or a cigarette plug (all provided) can be attached to the charger depending on the application.
When the battery is not in use, it requires less care and ages faster. Storage Mode: The storage mode is activated when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. The float voltage is decreased to 13,2 V in storage mode to reduce gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. To equalize the battery, the voltage is raised to the absorption level once a week. This function reduces electrolyte stratification and sulphation, which are primary causes of early battery failure.
– Overheating and reverse polarity connections are prevented. The output current decreases when the temperature rises to 40°C, yet the charger does not fail. Reverse polarity protection is provided via the output relay.
– Five LED status and mode indicators: When connected to an alternating current source, the STAND-BY LED illuminates. There will be no voltage at the output. After connecting to a battery (battery voltage must be greater than 8,5V), one of three charging options is available.
Profiles using the MODE button: – Current restricted to t0 0,8A and absorption voltage of 14,4V. The red LED 14Ah will be turned on.
– Absorption voltage of 14,4V and current of 4A. The red LED >14Ah will illuminate. Flooded, AGM, or GEL batteries are suitable for use. Temperature range: 10–35°C.
– Current 4A and absorption voltage 14,7V. The red LED COLD will illuminate.
Flooded, AGM, or GEL batteries are suitable for use. Low ambient temperature, or batteries needing a higher charge voltage (such as OPTIMA spiral cell batteries).
– The red LED CHARGE will illuminate until the battery is completely charged.
– When the charging procedure is complete, the red LED FULL will illuminate.
– In the event of a reverse polarity connection, the red LED! will illuminate. – If the red LED STANDBY remains illuminated after pushing the MODE button, the connection to the battery is severed.
– When connected to an alternating current supply, the charger always begins in STANDBY mode.
