Skylla-IP65 (1+1): two outlets for charging two batteries
There are two separate outputs on the Skylla-IP65 (1+1). The second output, which is restricted to about 3 A and has a somewhat lower output voltage, is intended to fully charge a starting battery.

Operation that is synchronized in parallel
Using the may bus interface, many chargers may be connected in parallel and synchronized. Simply connect the chargers using RJ45 UTP cables to do this.
Variable absorption time is the optimal charging quantity for a lead-acid battery.
To minimize overcharging the battery, the absorption phase is reduced when the discharge is shallow. After a deep drain, the absorption charging time is automatically extended to guarantee that the battery is fully recharged.
BatterySafe mode protects against harm caused by excessive gassing.
If a fast charging current and high absorption voltage combination is used to quickly charge a battery, the Skylla-IP65 will protect the battery from over-gassing by automatically restricting the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage is achieved.
When the battery has not been drained for 24 hours, the storage mode is engaged. To avoid gassing and corrosion of the positive plates during storage, the float voltage is decreased to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for 24 V batteries). The voltage is raised back up to absorption level once a week to “freshen” the battery. This feature prevents the major causes of battery failure, electrolyte stratification and sulphation.
All Skylla-IP65 chargers contain a battery temperature sensor. When connected, the charging voltage automatically reduces as the battery temperature rises.
This capability is especially suggested for sealed lead-acid batteries and/or when the battery is projected to experience considerable temperature swings.
The Skylla-IP65 incorporates a voltage probe function to compensate for voltage losses due to cable resistance, ensuring that the battery always receives the right charging voltage.
The Skylla-IP65, thanks to its superb control circuitry, may be utilized as a power source with completely stabilized output voltage in situations where batteries or compensating capacitors are not available.
Simple on/off control may be achieved by connecting a relay or an optocoupler with an open collector output of a Li-Ion BMS to the charger’s remote control connection. Connecting to the CAN-bus port allows for full voltage and current control.
